The Seasons of Life
The Seasons of Life
“To everything there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1 (AMP)
The youthful, newness of spring, the vibrantly, bright sunshine of summer, the contented, coolness of autumn and the hibernation of winter…there is just something about each season that speaks to me.
In a spiritual sense, the seasons also should represent something to all of us as we continue to sojourn with Christ.
Spring could be the newness you felt when you first experienced Christ. I know that when I was a new Christian, I was a voracious reader of the Bible devouring every Word as if it would be my last. I couldn’t wait to just know Him in a personal and real way and so my love affair began in spring.
Summer, to me, represented the exciting phase in my walk with Christ where I allowed His Word to take root in my life and I became ALIVE. Knowing and experiencing Him for myself became my goal. Here our love affair blossomed into a real-life, full-fledged amazing romance.
Fall is where we dance. He continues to take the lead and I happily go where He tells me. If He says go left, I go without hesitation or regret. There is a rhythm in my walk with Him, almost like an unspoken purpose between us that even now I just get giddy thinking about it. His Words are now deeply entrenched in my soul. I know Him for myself now. I claim each of His sweet promises to me and make them my own.
In fall, I am coming into my own as a full-fledged, mature Christian. Our love affair has turned into a marriage and we complement each other. I trust Him fully now with every bit of my heart.
I haven’t been in fall long, but I love it and am glad to meet Him here.
Winter is where your walk with God is winding down. You can see the finish line…Heaven and you just simply can’t wait to be with Him and in His arms forever. There is this combination of peace, wisdom and tranquility here that you have never quite experienced before and it breeds a sense of gratification for the journey.
I’ve haven’t reached this stage in my journey yet, but I know that I will be glad here when I do.
Each season is special in our walk with Christ because it is important to enjoy each stage of the journey.
Examine where you are and savor it…but not too long, because God might be trying to get you to move on to another season in your life. So, remember you must be pliable and willing to yield to the Holy Spirit’s nudging.
I know that, for me, I absolutely loved summer, but God was leading me to fall because He was ready for me to go deeper in my relationship with Him. Now, that I am here I am overjoyed because the Words that I have read almost all my life are now realer to me than they have ever been before in my life; and so, maybe you too need to move into another season to fully experience what Christ has for you.
In any case, I pray that you enjoy your season with Christ. Be Blessed.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the seasons of life where I get to appreciate and experience more of You. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen
