For I know the plans I have for you…
For I know the plans I have for you…
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
I love this scripture so much I have it as my Bible cover. It brings me such an overwhelming sense of peace to know that God loves me so much that He has nothing but positive thoughts and plans for me.
So many things are so negative in life, and so to know that my Savior loves me so much that He wants me to prosper and be filled with hope always makes me smile.
Although I have read this scripture many, many times throughout the course of my life, it wasn’t until about 10 years ago that I allowed the Words contained therein to really take root in my life.
It was during a time of transition. I was laid-off from one job and really wasn’t sure where or what to do in terms of employment. I had been in one career path for most of my 20’s and really was undecided about what I wanted to do when I grew up.
During one of my spirit-filled prayer sessions, God spoke this verse to me all while simultaneously telling me to be at peace during this tide of uncertainty and showing me a different industry to consider.
Needless to say, it was a great career decision because it has allowed me to grow both professionally and personally.
I continue to be promoted at work. I am blessed to work with Christian women who I love and who love me like family. Because of my job, I was able to complete my bachelor’s degree at Hood, with very little debt due to our tuition assistance program.
I am blessed.
Beloved, God has that for you too. Trust Him and let Him guide your future, you won’t be disappointed. Blessings!
Loving Father, thank You so much for loving me so much that you have good plans and a future for me. May I continue to step out on faith as You lead and guide me to it. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
