Changing Lives for Christ:

“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.” Isaiah 61:1

Funding the mission and ministry of Asbury UMC and community takes financial resources; together we give to financially support the mission and ministries of our church. Our goal is to be good stewards of our time, talent, and treasure; and to become a 100% tithing congregation. We know that the mission of the church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ and we are seeking to understand how to fit this larger mission into our lives and into our church in a practical way. “…to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor…” Isaiah 61:2

By the anointing of the Holy Spirit we believe that God is using our congregation to change lives for Christ and we are laying the foundation to impact generations to come. The most visible way God knits people into community to fulfill the mission of Christ is through congregations.

We are called as a congregation to offer gracious invitation, welcome, and hospitality of Christ so that people experience a sense of belonging. God shapes souls and changes minds through worship, creating a desire to grow closer to Christ.

God’s spirit nurtures people and matures faith through learning in the community; with increased spiritual maturity, people discern God’s call to help others through mission, ministry, and service. God inspires people to give generously of themselves so that others can receive the grace they have known. Our generosity has purpose in God’s plan for our personal lives, the village, and God’s kingdom on earth. “..they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations.” Isaiah 61:4
