Asbury’s Mural of Hope Project
SUPPORT ASBURY’S “MURAL OF HOPE”
We believe “Hope” is life giving and it will come alive on the planned mural for the exterior wall of the building located on the corner of West All Saints and Ice Streets in Frederick, Maryland. A “Mural of Hope” will be painted on the painted brick sided wall of 100 West All Saints Street. The building, which is owned by Asbury Church, currently serves as the church’s Community Clothes Closet and Food Pantry. These programs have been a great resource for those in need. Because the building is located near various agencies that provide services to those needing assistance, it is our desire that the “Mural of Hope” will inspire hope and anticipation to those who need encouragement and revitalize the neighborhood. In addition, a mural in this area complements the other creative public art that Frederick City embraces throughout the downtown region.
YOU CAN HELP! It is our goal that the “Mural of Hope” will be realized by the fall of 2016. The proposed mural has received the recommendation of the Frederick City Public Art Commission and the approval of the Frederick City Historical Preservation Commission. The estimated cost of the project is $20,000. We have reached half of our goal through our church campaign and a matching grant from The Ausherman Foundation. Your generous donation will endorse our planned beautification of the building and support our vision to continue to inspire hope in this community. We need the benevolence and financial support of community businesses, organizations, agencies and individuals to make this project a reality. All donors’ names will be recognized on a plaque and published on the Church website.
